GurmatSangeet.org

The Gurmat Sangeet Academy is registered as a "not for profit organisation". We are based in the Midlands (UK). The Gurmat Sangeet Academy was formed in 2004 and is run by volunteers.

 We have two goals:

• To promote kirtan, especially tanti saaj based kirtan which is done in accordance with Gurmat
• To promote Sikhi through kirtan and katha which is normally done in English

To support these goals, we run regular classes in the Midlands through which we teach:

• Tanti Saaj (Dilraba, Taus, Israj/Tarsehnai, Sarangi)
• Vocals (Vocal theory as well as kirtan)
• Tabla

We emphasise Gurbani based raags.

From time to time we run focussed workshops and retreats (such as the annual tabla retreat in Wales).
